Everyone welcome. No exceptions.
The Table was born from a simple belief: every person deserves a place to belong.
We honor the rich legacy of the Black church and the countless ways it has nurtured faith, sustained communities, and advanced the cause of justice. At the same time, we recognize that many people have struggled to find a spiritual home where they can bring their full selves and still be welcomed.
Some have felt marginalized because of their questions. Others because of their gender, sexual orientation, marital status, life experiences, or differing perspectives. Still others have simply longed for a more diverse community that reflects the fullness of God’s family.
At the Table, diversity is more than representation. We are intentionally creating space where African American
culture, history and perspectives are valued as an essential part of the community.
The Table is not a rejection of the church. It is an invitation to expand the table.
We are building a movement where people of every race, background, generation, ability, identity, and life story can gather in community, grow spiritually, and work for justice together.
We believe that diversity is not a threat to faith—it is one of God’s greatest gifts.
At The Table, we make room for questions, for learning, for healing, and for one another.
Everyone Welcome. No Exceptions.

A movement for seekers, believers, doubters, and dreamers who long for faith rooted in love, justice, belonging, and spiritual growth.
The Table will grow through online reflections, community conversations, virtual gatherings, small circles, service opportunities, and eventually regional and national gatherings.
We are starting simply: meaningful posts, honest conversation, short videos, and invitations for people to help shape what comes next.

You left church, but not God.
You are still sitting in the pews, but feel disconnected.
You are tired of faith being used to divide people.
You long to be in a faith community where you can be your authentic self.
You want a Christian community where love is larger than judgment.
You believe spiritual depth and social justice belong together.
You are looking for a place where your questions are not a problem—they are part of the journey.

The Table Faith Community is becoming a national Christian movement for people who love God, carry questions, seek justice, and desire a more inclusive way to live out faith.
You do not have to fit a mold to belong here. You do not have to pretend certainty. You do not have to leave your story, your questions, or your whole self at the door.
We make room for people who have been excluded, overlooked, wounded, or told they did not fit.
We believe faith should move us toward compassion, equity, repair, and action in the world.
We welcome honest questions. Faith is not having all the answers; sometimes faith is the courage to keep asking.
We practice a faith that keeps expanding—through prayer, reflection, conversation, service, and community. service tailored to your unique needs.

The Table is for people who want to help reimagine Christian community for this moment—more honest, more inclusive, more compassionate, and more deeply connected to justice.
Rev. Addie Gatewood, JD. is the founder of The Table Faith Community, a movement for people seeking a more inclusive, compassionate, and justice-centered expression of Christian faith.
A public theologian and lifelong student of people and community, Rev. Addie believes that some of life’s most meaningful conversations happen when people gather with open hearts, curious minds, and a willingness to learn from one another. Her passion is creating spaces where questions are welcomed, differences are respected, and everyone has a seat at the table.
Whether discussing faith, justice, belonging, relationships, or the challenges of everyday life, Addie invites people into honest conversation and authentic community. She is especially passionate about helping people reconnect with spirituality in ways that inspire hope, encourage growth, and build bridges across differences.
Through The Table, her vision is simple: create a movement where people can explore faith, deepen relationships, serve others, and discover that they belong exactly as they are.
Everyone Welcome. No Exceptions.
Rev. Gatewood preaches and speaks nationally on faith, belonging, justice, leadership, and creating communities where everyone has a place at the table.
